My1Voice VoIP Services Reviewed

My1Voice is a relative newcomer to the VOIP and virtual PBX world. But given their solid background in delivering virtual service with their MyFax service they are well equipped in the areas of provisioning, infrastructure, service development and customer service.

My1Voice: An overview

My1Voice a relatively new service for Protus IP, the company that brought us MyFax Internet Fax. This new service has all the features you would expect from a Vitrual PBX;

  • Virtual Receptionist with After hours greetings and phone menus
  • Call Forwarding with direct to voicemail and request routing
  • Enhance Voicemail with online access and Voicemail to text
  • Call Screening including blocking calls
  • Vanity Phone numbers and number porting
  • Conference calling and integrated Internet Fax (receive only)

Why are they different? For My1Voice some of the key differences are the simplicity of the pricing plans and the features they throw in for free which include number porting, vanity numbes, unlimited extensions, voicemail to text and per second billing which can help keep your costs down.

Now, let’s take a look at their plans.

The Pricing Plans

My1Voice has 3 different plans on offer and you can choose one depending on your calling requirements.

My1Voice Starter: Best for single phone. Consultant who also has other phone service.
The first plan is called My1Voice Starter plan which although cheap at only $10 a month only gives you 150 minutes. This is really only usable as a routing service

The Most Popular plan: Best for single phone users with low usage 

This plan gives you a more reasonable 500 minutes for only $20 a month.

The Best Value plan has a nice 1,000 minutes for just $30 a month.

  • They also offer other plans with more minutes.
  • Additional minutes cost $0.05 each
  • All plans offer no hidden fees, no setup and can be canceled at any time. Assuming they work like MyFax you can just send them an email or a chat session and cancel your service immediately. No hassle.

Auto attendant: Like all VIOP services My1Voice includes a receptionist capable of answering incoming business  calls in a professional manner. It can forward calls to any number of your choice, greet calls with custom messages according to the time of the day and also handle multiple calls. You can test drive the system for free

You can customize your preference o send your calls to multiple phone numbers no matter where your are, office, cell and now even Skype. The phones can ring all at once or in the order you desire

Administration: Like I said before, it’s all about simplicity at My1Voice. You can control your account completely from an online administration panel that can be accessed from anywhere. The admin panel includes easy to use ACD (Automatic Call Director) Queue screens as well as the ability to manage all other aspects of your system without any special training or degree in telecommunications or computer technology. Of course My1Voice includes comprehensive easy to follow manuals, online help guides as well as phone and email support.

As is the case with every service provider, there were certain things I liked with My1Voice and a few things that I wished would be added to their services.

Pros

  •  Affordable: Easy to understand pricing plans
  • Unlimited Extensions  
  • Reliable: My1Voice is backed by Protus IP, the same folks that bring us MyFax and has a long history of reliable service
  • Customizable: The service is highly customizable. You can customize everything from the number where you receive calls once you leave office to the afterhours greeting message.
  • Technical Support: If not the best, My1Voice has a technical support team that ranks highly. They have phone, email and chat support. Most queries are answered in the first call itself.
  • Feature Rich: Good feature set for an inexpensive service, My1Voice also offers some of the best ‘value for money’ features in the market.
  • Complete Online Control: My1Voice has an online administration panel which lets you access and control your account. It is extremely user friendly and well documented
  • Money Back Guarantee: Almost all the plans on My1Voice come with a 30 day trial which allows you to benefit from the service to see if it’s right for you.

 Cons

  •  Limited number of plans: The starter plan is almost useless to anyone but the best value plan at $30 a month with 1000 minutes is a pretty good deal
  • Can’t send faxes: You’ll need to get their fax service if you wish to send faxes though plans are available from MyFax for as low as $10 a month including 500 faxes.

 Final Verdict – 4 Stars

Overall given the quality of the Protus network, the aggressive pricing, always available customer service based in North America I’d have to rate My1Voice as a solid choice. Given the free trial this is an excellent solution for an individual consultant or a small business that need all the essential services of an automated VOIP phone service.
